WMCSC
West Michigan Cyber Security Consortium
Oct. 21st - 23rd
Marcel and Meg attended a 3 day cyber security training. Two days of Professionally Evil Application Security (PEAS) and a 1/2 day of AI and Machine Learning. The training focused on the techniques used to assess and exploit applications; including web and mobile applications, APIs, and HTTP-based systems.
Marcel: "I am glad I attended. I spend my day-to-day building web applications, so seeing how to expose security flaws in them is very useful. I knew this stuff existed before, but had never been actually exposed to it myself. I enjoyed learning from our instructor who gave good insights on how she does application penetration testing professionally."
Meg: "I enjoyed being able to get hands on a keyboard and testing the tools that are actually used in the field. It definitely helped highlight the importance of secure coding practices!"
